What is amazing is how many dentists there are just across the border in Nuevo Progreso, Mexico.  There must be 150 or 200 dentist offices and quite a few medical offices as well.  You will find people from all across America visiting and having dental work done.  There are also many shops and street vendors. Dental work is what most people come here for. But there are many stores filled with goods and the sidewalks are also lined with street vendor stands that sell jewelry, hats, blankets, dresses, wood crafts, pottery, art, leather goods, and curios of all kinds.  The vendors hawk their wares but very politely.  When you say no, they leave you alone.  Many shoe shine boys are also working the street.  Get a good shine for a buck.  They are all good natured working people, happy to have a job.  No crime at all in this part of Mexico.
